Artwork Description:
Ojalá que Llueva Café is a limited-edition linoprint created by Alicia in honor of Juan Luis Guerra’s iconic song—an anthem danced to by Hispanic people worldwide. Inspired by the song’s heartfelt message, this piece captures the longing of the poor in the Dominican countryside, where coffee rains from the sky, symbolizing hope and abundance.
Originally released in a first edition of 10, which sold out, Alicia created a second limited edition of 30 prints, ensuring that more collectors could experience this meaningful work. Measuring 11" x 16", the print is rich in texture, with intricately carved coffee beans cascading onto the fields below. The depth and movement within the composition reflect the song’s emotional resonance and cultural significance.
Hand-carved and printed by the artist, this linocut is available only as an original print on paper, signed and numbered, making each piece a unique tribute to one of Latin America’s most beloved songs.
