ALICIA SUÁREZ

Alicia Suárez Marroig, Puerto Rican colorist based in Tampa Bay since 2006. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she studied branding design, marketing and printmaking in Syracuse University, a strong graphic influence intertwined in her fine art work.

Dynamic, fast, passionate; that is who she is. Mother, experienced entrepreneur and artist. She throws herself at life with all of her passion. Her art is the visual trail that she leaves others. Her work, an integral part of who she is. You see it in the images, the colors and the compositions which capture your imagination.

Alicia’s goal as an artist has always been to create an emotional impact on the beholder — a burst of joy that uplifts the spirit if only for an instant. Her purpose is to engage you in play, her spirit to yours, simple, uncomplicated and always direct. That is Alicia.

 

Whether designing a brand, painting or printmaking, she is fascinated with the interplay of color, texture, and proportion. She uses unique techniques to achieve strong contrasts and bright hues combined with textures from unexpected sources.

Her work has been exhibited throughout the USA and Puerto Rico. Considered controversial due to her non-traditional approach, collectors seem to be inevitably attracted.
